Dan Hanley, known for his outstanding editing work on such films as A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man and Apollo 13, was a guest speaker in John Schmidt's Motion Picture/Post production class this fall. This Academy award winning film editor took time to visit with Gabe Renfro (director), Travis Finstein (editor) and Jonathan Bautts (editor) of the Biola film, "Nora Breaks Free". Dan watched the film, gave notes and tremendous encouragement. Following this, he graciously spoke to John Schmidt's Film and TV Editing class for 3 hours. Many students spent an additional hour with Dan after class asking questions about the craft and career of editing.
