Application

Please be assured that media production experience is NOT a prerequisite for admission into the FTR major. Our program will show you how to use the tools. We are more interested in leadership ability, creative thinking, problem solving, and INTEGRITY.

Your application to the FTR major should include the following items.

1. Completed FTR Application Form.
2. Typed short answers to the questions on PAGE TWO of the Application Form.
3. Three references with email addresses.
4. Any examples of your work or accomplishments you would want us to review. Quantity is not necessarily correlated with quality. We prefer one good example.
5. Mail your application to:

The full department faculty will prayerfully review your application. Notification letters will be sent out by the deadlines listed in the application schedule.

Biola is honored to offer outstanding programs in the areas of film, television, audio, journalism and public relations. Due to the high demand for entrance into the FTR major and the need to coordinate facilities with the number of majors, we regrettably must limit the number of students accepted into this area of study. It is anticipated that less than one half of the applicants will be admitted for the each academic year. Admission to the FTR major usually closes after the second Biola early enrollment period.If you have any questions about the status of your application,

SHORT ANSWER ESSAY QUESTIONS

Please answer the following questions on a separate piece of paper. These are meant to be short answer questions that help us to get to know you better. Type your answers.

1. Why do you feel you want to pursue a career in the media?
2. Please tell us about your favorite movie and why you consider it to be one of the greatest films of all time.
3. Please tell us about your favorite book (other than the Bible) and why you consider it to be one of the greatest books of all time.
4. There are a lot of film schools, why are you interested in the FTR major at Biola University?
5. Media production is a collaborative art, what contributions do you feel you can make to our creative community?
6. What would your dream project or job look like?
7. List any special classes or activities in which you have participated.
8. List any media productions you have done. Include title, format, length, your responsibilities, and a one-sentence summary.
9. Inform us about any special recognitions, awards or thank yous you have received related to your preferred career in media.
